Stockland Corporation is listed on the ASX and is Australia’s largest diversified property group. The company develops, owns and manages retail centres, business parks, logistics centres, office buildings, residential communities and retirement living villages. The company employs more than 2,000 people Australia-wide.
Stockland was seeking to improve control in user account administration. The company’s current systems did not allow for an Identity and Access Management (IDAM) system, therefore the ability for the organisation to effectively manage user accounts was a highly manual and cumbersome process.
Stockland’s goal was to have an organisation-wide authenticated identity which is unique, and whose actions are attributable, with end users able to gain access where authorised, to resources as defined by Stockland to perform a specifically approved action.
Stockland has an authoritative identity source for full time, part time, contractor and vendor staff that Kloud helped integrate with Microsoft Identity Manager (MIM). However, new employees are only able to access that system after they start employment and just before the first pay run.
Stockland leverage a cloud service for the recruitment of new, full-time employees. Using out-of-the-box and custom MIM connectors, Kloud architected and developed a solution to automate provisioning (sourced from the SaaS provider and the human resource information system) and to perform lifecycle management for their core end user computing systems, which include Active Directory (user attribute management, security and distribution list membership), Exchange (mailbox provisioning), Skype for Business (enablement IM&P policies), File & Print services, Terminal Services (profile settings) and SharePoint Online user profile synchronisation.
In a compressed time-frame, Kloud was able to assist Stockland with an implementation of Microsoft Identity Manager that met the business and compliance requirements and in addition, developed an enabling infrastructure that will be leveraged for future integration with core systems and cloud services.
Stockland now have traceability of the Staff Account provisioning processes, lifecycle management of their identities and the foundation for future identity management projects. These benefits greatly assist Stockland with meeting and exceeding their compliance and auditing obligations.
